Conditions for Geodata

By mail

Data are normally delivered by post on a CD or DVD. For data sets greater than 30 GB, the data medium is defined upon consultation with the licensee. Term of delivery: 1 up to 2 weeks

Special delivery times for aerial photograph data

The photo library is only staffed for one day per week. It is therefore likely to take longer to respond to enquiries or to supply quotes and orders.

  • Aerial photographs which are already scanned and available to order in the Information System for Aerial Photographs (LUBIS) http://www.swisstopogeodata.ch/swisstopo_apps/lubis/ are delivered within two weeks.
  • Aerial photographs which are available to order in the Information System for Aerial Photographs (LUBIS) http://www.swisstopogeodata.ch/swisstopo_apps/lubis/ but have not yet been scanned are delivered within two to three weeks.
  • For orders of aerial photographs which are not available to order in the Information System for Aerial Photographs (LUBIS) (manual searches in the image collection), delivery times are available upon request geodata@swisstopo.ch
  • For orders of large quantities of aerial photographs, delivery times are available upon request geodata@swisstopo.ch

Downloads

Some products are available for downloading. Conditions: payment by credit card, data sets < 2 GB.
Term of delivery: 2 Hours, during the opening hours of the office guaranteed
For orders which require a signed contract the download will be available once the signed contract has been returned.
For school licences, entitlement has to be verified before the download can be released.

Subscriptions

The granted licence entitles the licensee to obtain updated federal geodata by subscription, as long as the data concerned are available. Information about the frequency of product updates is available on the corresponding pages on the Internet.
The minimum duration of a subscription is 3 years. Unless they have been terminated, subscriptions will be automatically renewed for one year.

Payment in Switzerland

By credit card (Master Card or VISA), Postfinance Card or invoice (payable within 30 days).

Payment from abroad

By credit card (Master Card or VISA) or prepayment.

For subscriptions, the fees for the full duration of the initial subscription period (3 years) are charged immediately.

Conditions of use

Use of federal geodata is governed by corresponding licences. The data remain the property of the Federal Office of Topography.

The order process includes the display of an agreement, which has to be accepted by clicking on the corresponding box.

For orders with a value of more than 1,000 Swiss francs per product, an agreement will be sent by post, which has to be signed and returned to the Federal Office of Topography.

When ordering subscriptions, an agreement always has to be signed.

Purchase obligations

All orders are binding.

After data have been ordered, it is still possible for the ordering party to cancel, but a fee will be charged that reflects the effective processing costs.
